Production of the CARICOM Fisheries NewsNet commenced in 1992. The latest edition- Volume 5 Number 1 - is dated April 1998. The Newsnet has received contributions from Fisheries Division staff, CFTU staff and other fisheries experts in the region.

The Newsnet has served as a medium for the regular dissemination of information throughout the region. Regular updates on CFTU activities are provided. Through the Newsnet, countries are kept abreast of developments in fisheries management in the region. A special calendar of event, which focuses on CFTU workshops and meetings, is in included in each edition.

The Newsnet is one of the many tools used by the CFTU to facilitate the exchange of information among the managers of the fisheries resources of the CARICOM/CARIFORUM Region.
